Applicants must be able to repair x86 based family of computers. Good troubleshooting skills is a must. Familiarity with MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows95, and Novell is required. Job includes configuring multimedia systems, resolving IRQ/DMA conflicts, changing jumper settings, upgrading memory, hard drives, video cards, sound cards, etc. Must be able to change motherboards, CPUs, and be familiar with BIOS overlays. A thorough working knowledge of video monitors is required. Must be able to repair monitors down to the component level, read schematics and also reverse-engineer various sub-sections of monitors. 60% to 70% of the monitors do not have schematics available. Must be able to service and repair a wide variety of printers, ranging from 9-pin dot matrix printers, to color laser and video printers.
